"Ode to You. Nil Sine Labore.

Do you remember the days I miss most?

Do you remember the cold aluminium of the coffee-shop style seating, where the trio JavierSamuelMe would swim in the pools of Lam Peng Kwan and Lim Poh Keow?

Do you remember the smooth-sliding bench wood of the mezzanine to infinity, where AaronMuzzyMe contemplated the intricacies of ions bonded to ions bonded to ions to the accompaniment of flitting footfalls and the swish of the shuttlecock?

Do you remember the yellow hued den of books, where IvanCherLiMe surreptiously exhanged answers behind the watchful eye of our dear auntie Librarian?

Do you remember the trips to our watering hole, quite literally? Where LiSengGaryMe would exchange portait-paper for life-draining sustenance? Or the times when ZehongFarandMe would beg each other for shiny metal to feed the vending machine from hell?

Do you remember our algae pool? Where HimMervynMe would feed strange objects to our cuddly grey torpedoes, wondering which particular combination would turn them belly up?

You probably don't remember the hours before D-day. Walking down the 4D staircase with HimHimMe and seeing 3D-2003 playfully vandalised in pink on the one support pillar we shouldn't have touched. Knowing that this was my last chance to prove my worth to Victoria and Victoria.

Realising that this 4 years have made brothers of us all, and that even though our brotherhood slowly turns faceless as time wears on memory, the places we used to share have been transcribed into our hearts as the playgrounds of space our 16 year olds will always meet to kick a soccer ball, hi five, share a cuppa coke and then unanimously get down to functions and logarithms.

These are the days I miss."
